Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Public records of property ownership

Where do I go to research public records of the property ownership of my parents home?

My mother is deceased and my father wants to sell their home.

I've been lead to believe that my mother's half is to be split between my father, me and my brother's children, (brother is also deceased) because of how the home was purchased back in 1968.

I'd like to find out if that is truly the case. 1. Is it a public record? 2. If so, where do I find the records?

Re: Public records of property ownership

You need to go to the county recorder's office where the property is located to get this information. It is public record. You may also look online, most counties have made this information available on their websites.
