Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Wife preceeded Mother in death

My wife preceeded her mother in death and my sister-inlaw had her mother remove my wifes name from her mother's will. My Mother-inlaw just passed away and the my sister-inlaw called me to say that the attorney will be send my children a letter for them to sign stating that they are not in the will. When my sister-inlaw had her sisters name removed I didn't think much of it, but now it looks like it was done so that what would have been my wifes share of the estate will not go to her children but rather to my two sister-inlaws. i have not seen the will or the paperwork yet but by signing it they would not be able to contest the will.(NY) will.

Were my children rightful heirs?

If the will is being probated in New York, you need to contact a New York attorney. There may be a cause of action for your children based on interference with their right to inherit, and other New York legal issues to explore.
