Legal Question in Construction Law in Oklahoma

Construction work not complete

I had an estimate for brick work to be done on my house. I chose a company. They poured the footing and brought out the brick. The total job costs $7200 and we paid $4500. We have had lots of rain but we've also had sunny days for them to complete the brick work. The last couple of weeks when they said they would be onsite they never showed. We call the place of business and the owner's cellphone and leave messages. We've been doing this for a week. I've faxed a letter to the place of business to have someone call me. Nobody has contacted us. What are my other options?

Re: Construction work not complete

It may be impossible to do a proper job of this type if it is too humid. That may be why they are not showing up on those intermixed sunny days. Do some research and find out. If I'm right, then they have a valid reason. If I'm wrong, then they are simply doing other work because the rain messed up their schedule. A serious job like this requires sufficient time for them to avoid losing money on a fair contract.
