Legal Question in Consumer Law in Oklahoma

I purchased a new car on 8/13/09. I signed a contract and financed the vehicle through Honda. I also took advantage of the Cash for Clunkers program and signed my vehicle title over to the dealership. They were going to prep the vehicle and I was to pick it up today 8/14/09. The dealership called this morning and informed me that they had made a mistake in the price of the vehicle on the contract agreement and that it was going to cost me more money. They said that they were not going to honor the contract that we had signed, but that I had to sign a new contract at a higher price. Can they do this? Can I hold them to the contract that we signed?

Thank you,

John

No. The dealership cannot force you to sign a new contract on these conditions.

And, it is recommened that you hold them to the current contract. Particularly, if they are requesting addendums or revisions to the current contract based on an error or mistake on their part and the contract had already been signed and approved by all affected parties.
