Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Oklahoma

Bogus Check Warrant

Two days ago, I received a letter from the DA's office notifying me of a warrant that has been issued because of a bogus check that I wrote 3 years ago when I lived in Oklahoma. This is the first notification I have ever received about such check. According to the DA's office, they have been trying to reach me by mail since they have been dealing with the matter. I resided in the same town (where I wrote the bogus check) for two more years before moving to Minnesota. I find it hard to believe that the local DA's office tried very hard to reach me in the same town for two years, and failed. I am outraged that they are now asking me to pay $150 for court costs for a $16 bad check that I wrote 3 years ago. If they would have reached me by last month, before the warrant was issued, I would not have to pay the court costs. I feel the DA's office did not try very hard to notify me about the bogus check when I could still afford to pay it off. I know I am at fault for originally writing the bogus check, but can the DA's office be partially to blame for not contacting me about it before the warrant was issued? Is it even worth pursuing in court?
