Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Oklahoma

magazine subscription and minor children

My 16 year old signed up for a free trial issue of a magazine on the internet. I didn't know he had done this. He said he sent something back to the company cancelling the subscription. However, he kept getting magazines. Now, he is getting letters from a collection agency. Am I liable for the subscription?

Re: magazine subscription and minor children

No, you are not and neither is he. Send a letter CERTIFIED to the collection folks telling them that the order was cancelled and that nothing is owed. Leave us alone! and hang on to the green card when it comes back. If they persist after notice then you may be able to sue them!
