Is there a time limit of when a creditor can collect on a bill?

Yes. In Oklahoma, the Statute of Limitations on a written contract is 5 years. For a verbal contract, it is 3 years. Generally speaking, the time period runs from the date of the breach. This means that a creditor must properly initiate litigation within this time frame, or the calim is barred. After a judgment is obtained, different time limitations for enforcement apply.
