Do I have to appear for a preliminary hearing if I was not served a supena but recognized by a random judge after speaking with the prosecutor about not wishing to go forward in pressing charges on a domestic a&b case?

No, you do not have to appear. However, if you do not appear, the judge can hold you in contempt of court for not obeying his order to return. This could include putting you in jail and/or a fine.
