Unnessary Case Numbers

Is it legal and correct for an individual to receive three(3) different case #' (ex. CF03-103675, CF03-105877, CF03-105920) for the same (1) offense? Also an original charge of Poss of CDS w/Intent AFCF(63-2.401bid) under the case#3675, be filed as simple Poss of CDS (63.2.402A)under the case#5877, and a warrant issued under case#5920.

yes, and no ... it depends. What you may think is the same case may actually be different cases. I suggest that you take your paperwork to a local Attorney and follow his/her instructions and advise.

It is not illegal to have multiple case #s for different charges occurring in the course of the same transaction; however, the same charge cannot result in two or more convictions.
