Child Support after graduation

My daughter is 18 and is a full time college student. Her father stopped all child support and dropped her from his health insurnace. Do she or I have any recourse?

Child Support after graduation

I'm not licensed in Oklahoma, but in most states, there is no obligationfor EITHER parent once the child reaches age 18.If you two AGREED to something else at the time of the divorce and that is in the court papers, then he might be required to pay something. But generally speaking, at age 18 it's time for the little birdie to leave the nest

Child support after age 18

I read Jes Beard's answer and agree with it, but I would add (as he implies) that some states do consider a college education to be a support obligation of the parents, sometimes depending upon certain facts and circumstances. If OK is like NC, though, the answer would be "NO" absent an agreement (as Mr. Beard says), UNLESS THE JUDGE DECIDES TO ORDER IT FOR SOME REASON (there's maybe a slight possibility for you). There may be a child support collection office in your local courthouse that can answer your question. Or you OK Bar Association may have published a child support brochure. Or you can research it in a law library (maybe in the courthouse or the public library, either of which might have some of the brochures I mentioned). But if you can't find the answer through your own hard work, it's time to call a lawyer.
