Legal Question in Personal Injury in Oklahoma

dog bite, doctor bill

My neighbor had a dog and it was outside and my dog got out and the two got into a fight. She tried to break it up and claims my dog bit her. She never showed me the injury or told me she needed to go to the doctor. Now 8 months or so later she says that she is being sued for ER visit of $900. There was no police report filed and she wants me to help her pay for this.

Re: dog bite, doctor bill

You should refer to your homeowner's insurance policy to determine if this incident would be one covered under your homeowner's policy. Contact your homeowner's insurance carrier immediately. Not only will the damages be covered up to a certain limit to be found on the, "declarations page" of your policy, but attorneys' fees to defend, in the event the injured person decides to sue instead of settle, would likely also be covered as well. If you rent, or you are not covered by any policies of insurance, please re-post.
