Re: What is tort of conversion, ans intentional infliction of emotional distres

The tort of "conversion" is the unauthorized use of or control over another's personal property, to the exclusion of or inconsistent with rights of the owner.

The tort of "intentional infliction of emotional distress" is made up of two terms.

1. The term "emotional distress" means mental distress, mental pain and suffering, or mental anguish. It includes all highly unpleasant mental reactions, such as fright, horror, grief, humiliation, embarrassment, anger, chagrin, disappointment, and worry.

2. The term "intentional infliction" means someone desired to cause such distress or knew that such distress was substantially certain to result from [his/her/its] conduct.
