Legal Question in Social Security Law in Oklahoma

SSI benefits and legal seperation from spouse

I have just been approved for SSI after 5 yrs. of appeals.

My husband and I have been seperated for 6 months and live apart. He has been helping me some. My son and his two children live with me but my son is not working and hasn`t been for 4 months. Question is, will I be able to draw a monthly check, considering that my husband and I no longer live in the same household? I don`t own anything of value and do have to pay rent and utilities...Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Re: SSI benefits and legal seperation from spouse

Thanks for your question. I am not sure I understand or perhaps I do not have enough facts. You are approved for SSI which is a program that is not depended upon whether you or your husband had ever worked enough quarters to have been entitled to Social Security Disability. I would expect that you will receive an SSI check. How much depends on facts and rules too numerous for me to discuss.
