Ch 13 bankruptcy is a complex area that requires the confirmation of a Ch 13 plan, that shows the court how you plan on repaying part of your debts prior to discharge. There may also be tricky issues of valuation, cram down, and feasibility (to name a few). These are not issues that should be tackled without an attorney. Fortunately, Ch 13 plans allow for attorney fees to be paid after plan confirmation through the plan. Many attorneys will allow a partial fee (or sometimes no fee) up front with the anticipation of being paid their fee through the plan. I would recommend you finding an attorney that would agree to that type of representation rather than go at it alone. Otherwise, it is simply too risky for the debtor who may wind up being forced to either dismiss their case without discharge, or be forced into a Ch 7.
