Employment Law
I live in Oregon, and was under contract with a company operating out of Massachusetts. The company failed to pay me wages under the contract. Do I sue in Oregon, or Massachusetts?
Re: Employment Law
It depends on the choice of forum provision in the contract. It is probably Massachusetts.
By the way, if you were working under contract (and were a "contractor"), then you were not paid "wages." Wages are what employers pay to employees. If you were paid "wages" and was an "employee" of the company, then you would file a complaint with the Massachusetts Attorney General, using this form: http://www.ago.state.ma.us/filelibrary/Employment_Nonpay.pdf
