married couple and sole propietor
If my husband and I start a business,
Can we sole propretor as a couple or do
we need to file a partnership?
Re: married couple and sole propietor
By definition, two people cannot be a "sole proprietor". The default for two people in business is a "partnership". That said, however, a partnership is usually not the best choice. Some form of entity, either a corporation or an LLC (Limited Liability Company) is usually a better choice. You should discuss the possibilities with an attorney to determine which is best for your situation.
