Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Oregon

My boss has been telling my coworkers that I am a thief and that I have broken into a safe, As well as a locked filing cabinet. She has also told them that they do not know me like they think they do. All of this has been going on for months and she has never brought any of it straight to me.i work at an airport and there are cameras everywhere, my coworkers have told her to check the surveillance tapes but she refuses because it will raise a red flag with the airport that we are contracted to. I had also found marijuana around the office and reported it to her on several different occasions, all she ever said to me was that she didn't have time to deal with it. She then told my coworkers that I was planting the drugs. Would this be considered slander? She tells us all the time that she wishes she could fire us all and get a new crew which is creating a very hostile work environment. I filed an anonymous report with my employer and nothing has happened other than my hours being cut in half a week later. Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Contact your union representative, if you belong to a union. If not, I do not handle cases like this, but the law firm of Kafoury McDougal in Portland does. You can reach them at 503-224-2647 or [email protected]. They provide an initial consultation visit for you at no charge, and they usually take cases on a "contingency" basis, which means that you do not have to pay them, unless they succeed in obtaining money for you from the entity that harmed you.
