family law child support

is it within my rights to ask my exwife for a statement or reciepts of how she is spending the child support?

While it may seem unfair, courts generally hold that how the child support is spent cannot be dictated. The reason is the amount determined to be appropriate is to make sure the child's best interests are served by making sure enough money is paid to ensure necessities and a home are provided. Child support is based on parenting time, income of both parents, etc. The point of this is to avoid a he said she said fight over how the money is being spent.
