There is no "grace period" for payment of alimony. Each monthly installment must be received by the recipient on or before the due date. Period.

To lower you alimony payments, you need to file a motion with the court alleging that there has been subtanial and unforesent change of circumstances regarding the issue of alimony that pertains either to your abiling to pay or her need for the money.
