Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Oregon

hospital malpractice

A person went to a hospital complaining of a stomach ache, vomiting, and diarrhea. The doctor ordered an xray of the chest area only. 2 weeks later, the person went to a different hospital and found out their gullbladder had ruptured and died the next day. What could the family of the patient who died do? Someone needs to be help responsible.

Re: hospital malpractice

The family should consult a good personal injury lawyer, and there are time limits involved, so they should not delay.

These cases all turn on some very detailed facts. The lawyer may wish to hire a forensic nurse to help figure out whether the actions of the hospital at the first visit fell below the standard of care, and, essentially, whether they have a case.

Our firm handles some of these cases, as do many other personal injury firms. Generally, an initial consultation is free. If we're not in your area, we may be able to refer you to someone who is.

Good luck to your friends and their family.
