Legal Question in Personal Injury in Oregon

Question: My 3 year old was in a well known home improvement store with my boyfriend while I was at work yesterday, 6/29. In this time she had started crawling down the aisle for some reason and when she stood up she hit a very sharp corner on a BBQ grill that was set out on display causing her to lose lots of blood and need quite a few stitches across her face. Ambulance and fire dept were called and she was rushed to a local ER. Many people have suggested filing suit against the store for not having the grills more properly kept and/or covered, but I'm not quite sure if we'd even have a strong case or how I might go about it if we did.

Any help?

You would appear to have a case for negligence against the store. You should consult a personal injury attorney. Most charge nothing for an initial consultation. You should not sign any release or settlement that may be offered to you by the store or its insurance company or its lawyers.

I do not handle cases like this, but the law firm of Kafoury McDougal in Portland does. You can reach them at 503-224-2647 or [email protected]. They provide an initial consultation visit for you at no charge, and they usually take cases on a "contingency" basis, which means that you do not have to pay them, unless they succeed in obtaining money for you from the entity that harmed you.
