Legal Question in Social Security Law in Oregon

social security disability appeals never submitted by SS office

I was given a notice 6/02 that my SSI payments were going to be discontinued as of the end of that month. There was an error with the SSI office, I appealed so my SSI payments were to continue until the administrative Law Judge. The appeals, sent to:SSI Coos Bay office,Administrative Law Judge C/O the Coos Bay SSI office. My SSI payments were stopped 6/30/02. The local SS office have 3 appeals I had sent in to Administrative Law Judge, stamped and dated by the Coos Bay SSI office as '' received'' but had never been submitted. My SSI has not been re-instated. They have now come up with wanting information about a joint checking account I had with the Co-Owner of the property. I was told my SSI would be restarted, to get my back payments I would have to take my name off of the joint account. I closed the account but my SSI has not been re-started. I got another letter saying they want to see 2 years worth of this joint bank account records before they will re-start my payments. Is there any legal action that can be taken about this?

There is the right to appeal any decision of the SSA. It is probably faster to comply with the SSA request and ask your Congressperson to help you speed up the process.
