Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Oregon

A couple have been married for a number of years and accumulated a sizeable estate. They have no children and their only relatives are a sister of each. The husband passes away 8 years ago and then the wife dies last month. There was no will. I was told the wifes sister would inherit the entire estate. What about the other sister of the husband, should she be entitled to half of the estate?

Without wills, state laws will determine who gets what. When the husband died, the wife inherited all of his estate because they did not have children. When the wife died 8 years later, her heirs, apparently her sister, would inherit the entire estate. The husband's sister would not inherit anything.
