No bank can block any account without notifying consumer or without any just cause. You have very right to file suit for damages in consumer court in addition to talking action against bank in banking court. It is pertinent to mention here that before filing suit for damages/compensation, you are required to file complaint against bank before State Bank thereafter serve a legal notice under consumer protection Act in order to file complaint. As far as determination of damages are concern, this is you to determine your monitory loss and mental trauma. There is limit on it; but you will have prove your loss in court.
