Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

My attorney took my case 3 years ago. Wrongful termination he called me or I called him at least every two weeks or so. He told me everything was going fine and he was in constant contact with my employer. Last september he told me that we were going in front of the judge because they were draging there feet. He told me a few weeks later that the judge demanded that they come up with a job and backpay. January came around and i called him he said that with in 45 days the case would be settled and i would get my job back and all back pay. In may i demande that he show me some proof he said that sanctions were put on them and that they would pay 250.00 a day fine. I waited till september and told him i need to see something and threatened to go to the judge. I did and to my surpise everything he had told me was a lie and the snactions were put on him for failure to resopnd to the other side request for discovery. he never responded they eventuly dismissed the case because he never did anything and i had so much evidence and witnesses that we could have won this case. Now three years have gone by and im down 4,500.00 dollars and got nothing nobody even saw the evidence. To fight for me. Im 58 years old head 9 years and 9 months with them i cant get my ten year pension from them now it would have provided 1000. 00 a month plus health care for the rest of my life. Who can help me!!!!!!

Fist I would suggest you call your previous attorney and demand an accounting of the monies you paid him or her. The reason I suggest you demand the accounting is so that you will know exactly what work your attorney did on your case. Next I would suggest you demand a return of any monies that the attorney did not earn. It is a slippery slope to demand a complete return of your money if the attorney earned some or all ot it.

Next, if the attorney does not respond or responds in the negative, I would suggest you contact the Bar Association in your county. Each Bar Association has a fee dispute process, in which you can challenge the fee and demand return of the same.

If I can be of further assistance you can email me a [email protected].
