Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

My grandfather passed away in May 2008 in Pennsylvania. In August of 2008 I received a notice of estate administration for myself and my children. I know in most cases there is a period of time to wait if there are creditors that are owed anything, but how long before we might see the will settled?

I can appreciate your concern. Most smaller estates can easily be resolve from start to finish in the time period that you have described. If there is a law firm handling the administration of the estate, I would suggest that you contact them directly and ask for an update as to when they expect the estate to be resolved. Remember, everything being done in the estate is a matter of public record. As such, you can always go to the Register of Wills Office in the County where your grandfather resided at the time of his death and look at the estate file to see what has been done up to this point. If the law firm puts you off or does not provide you with a satisfactory update, you can always retain your ownn attorney to protect your interests in the estate. If you would like to discuss this matter with me, you can contact me directly either through our firm's website at www.americanwillsandestates.com or by email at [email protected]. Thanks.
