Legal Question in Administrative Law in Pennsylvania

Mistake on my Ticket

I received two tickets at Dingman campground in PA. Possession of alcohol in a closed area, and giving alcohol to minors. A few people had finished 1 beer when the officer came over and since i was the only one over the age of 21 the officer pulled me aside and told me that he would give me those two tickets, instead of giving everyone there a possession ticket. he told me that everyone would lose their licenses until they are 21 yrs old and that it would really ruin their lives. I really had no choice but to accept the tickets. In a way it was sort of a bribe. On the ticket he does have the right name and license number but he wrote the totally wrong address. He wrote Walden, NY for my address not Waldwick, NJ. This is a pretty big mistake. I want to know if i can fight this ticket based on the above information and hopefully the ticket will be void. Thanks!!

Re: Mistake on my Ticket

Did he get your name right? Did he hand you the ticket? Then you need to take care of it.

My recommendation is that you hire an attorney for this. Not because I want the work, because it's not something I handle. You must appear in court to oppose these tickets. If your record is clean you want to keep it that way. Security clearances and background checks may turn up this information and you don't need the hassle.

So look around for an attorney in the area of the court. And follow his/her advice.
