Bankruptcy Conversion from 13 to 7

I filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy in January of this year. Can I now convert that to a Chapter 7?

Yes, a motion to convert the case must be filed by your attorney and should be approved in most cases with no difficulties. ph. (800) 303-0720

Re: Bankruptcy Conversion from 13 to 7

You have an automatic right to convert your case to one under Chapter 7. It is not a motion, but a Praecipe. That means you are simply accomplishing it, not asking for it.

However, you can only do this once. Once in 7, it may not be converted to 13 by you.

I trust this has been helpful, but feel free to call or e-mail on a free initial basis.
