Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania

Pricing on registering a company name

I am looking to make my company and company name legitimate with both the state and government. I also want to trademark the name. Can you buy this service through just any existing company or does it always have to go through the state? Also; when all is said and done, about how much does it cost to register and trademark a company?

Re: Pricing on registering a company name

You must file with the State of Pennsylvania to create a legal entity. It is not something that can be purchased. I suggest you consult an attorney. Once you have the entity formed you can file a trademark application with the Patent office. Of course you can trademark without first forming a legal entity. The trademark would be registered in your individual name. There are many questions that you might have and the best advice I can give you is to consult with legal counsel. If I can be of any assistence I will be happy to assist. I can form a legal entity for you no matter where you are in Pennsylvania. Gerald M. Hershenson Esq. 215-579-9390
