Legal Question in Business Law in Pennsylvania

Starting a business...

I’m looking for some direction in this situation:

I am currently living in Florida. My permanent home is in Pennsylvania.

I will be living here until May 2008.

I would like to start a landscape concrete curbing business now in FL, but I want it based out of PA so that everything is ready to go when I go back and I don’t have to switch stuff over. Is that possible? Who do I need to talk to?

Do I need a business license for both FL & PA?

Will PA take taxes out of my income that I make in FL?

My driver’s license, insurance, etc is PA.

Do I need to be a FL driver’s license holder to have a business in FL?

Will I have to deal with sales tax?

I know that is a lot of questions, anything you can tell me would be of great help!

Re: Starting a business...

You asked about starting a business.

You sort of have the right idea, speaking to a lawyer I mean.

You really do need to sit down with a lawyer and discuss what your goals are. The questions you ask are routine but have many variables that need to be considered. Not to mention those variables you haven't considered that a competent business lawyer will help with.

I can help you get the business up and running at a fair rate. You want to start a business the right way and have a relationship with a lawyer from the beginning. As we always say, you can a pay lawyer a fee to prevent problems ahead of time or you can pay a large fee to solve problems later. Your choice.

Regards,

Roger
