Can a band director ban you from attending his public performances just because he is your ex boyfriend?

This must be taken on a case by case basis; however, if you state that these are public performances (i.e. school, park, etc) the general answer is no. Keep in mind that if it is considered a "public forum" under the law, which most public places are, then he has no way of banning your from the performance, unless you create a disturbance, safety concern, or substantial disruption to the performance.
