Legal Question in Technology Law in Pennsylvania

Use of my name in email address by previous employer

My previous employer who is now a competitor continues to keep my previous email address active in order to benefit financially by the use of my name and reputation. The email address uses my first and last name in the following format [email protected]

How can I get my previous employer to discontinue use of my name and reputation for financial gain?

There may be a cause of action available for you. But a number of questions would need to be answered before anyone could opine on this matter. You should consult with an attorney to discuss the matter thoroughly. After that an attorney can present options. Most likely the first course will be to issue a cease and desist letter. Don't try to do this yourself unless you are extremely comfortable that you can do so without violating various laws.

I would be happy to assist you with this or any other business matter. Please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
