Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Pennsylvania

School rights

Hi! I am

a senior at Penn Hills High School. I

am 4 other students were recently

suspended for wearing '' Not guilty''

shirts to school celebrating me

being not guilty to a harassment

case. We were all suspended for 3

days out of school, I however, was

suspended for 10 days, they took

away my prom and my graduation

walk. All over a T - Shirt that

displayed '' not guilty'' on the front

and '' envy'' on the back. The school

police officer has filed harassment

charges against all 5 of us for our t

shirts. We were in celebration of

my non conviction. The school

administrative has searched our

lockers and phones as a result to

this. This is a privacy violation and

unconstitutional, they have

embarrassed us and violated our

rights as citizens and students. We

have looked for the media for help,

and they have yet to contact us

back.

Re: School rights

So, if I understand this correctly, they have filed criminal charges against you for harassment for wearing a t-shirt? Doesn't sound like harassment to me. Sounds more like a First Amendment violation on the part of the school to me. (Of course, I don't know the whole story, just the part that you're telling me, but that's my first impression.)

Who did you supposedly harass on the first case where you were found not guilty?

If you are seeking an attorney on this case, please feel free to email me directly. I may be interested in it.
