Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

How long does a company have to correct an issue with a product under warranty?

I purchased a big screen TV on 12/10/04 & it stopped working on 1/20/05 (41 days after purchase). Since it was past the store's 30 day return policy, I had to go through the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer on 1/21/05 & their repair tech could'nt look at the TV until 2/7/05, where upon he told me that the part had to be ordered. It is now 3/10/05 (47 days since they were contacted), the part still has not arrived, & no one will do anything to rectify the situation. Since the TV is under warranty, is there a time frame that the manufacturer is obligated to correct the problem in? If so, what action can I take?

A strongly worded letter requesting compensation for the significant delay is your best bet at this stage. If you purchased the item with a credit card you may have the right to dispute the charge or be covered under a credit card warranty. If they do not respond you can bring action at the district justice level. I offer free consultations.
