Checking account levy

My checking account was levied because of a money judgement .

In th account was scholarship monies belonging to my son from a private fund is that money exempt from being levied.

It is likely that they can take the money because you “commingled” (mixed) the funds from the scholar ship with your own funds. However, you may be able to convince a judge that a portion of the money belongs to your son and you were holding it in trust for him. I suspect you have an uphill battle though. You may want to see an attorney.
