Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Conducting an asset search

I've sued an LLC and the owner of the LLC. He's stripped all of the assets from the LLC, has comingled assets, has severely undercapitalized the company, and has not followed proper corporate procedures. I should have no problem piercing the corporate veil.

My problem is that he is selling his house and moving out of state. I would like to do an asset search and try to get his assets attached before judgment. Any suggestions on a legal, inexpensive way to do an asset search?

Re: Conducting an asset search

There may be an Internet website which could assist you with such a search, but more likely

you will need to hire a local PI with experience in doing such investigations which could involve more expense than you currently have in mind.

If Pennsylvania is the state where the defendant's property is located and you have already initated a lawsuit, you may be able to record what is known in Virginia as a lis pendens (similar to a lien) to encumber the sale of the property and prevent it from being sold until the litigation has run its course.
