Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

NSF Check Collection

I set up payment arrangements with a creditor for repayment of a debt. I was unable to meet the agreed payment amout. They are now calling me telling me at work that I will be arrested for check writing fraud Monday if no payment is received and remain until full payment is made. Is this legal.

Re: NSF Check Collection

It is legal to advise you that writing bad checks is criminal. However, they cannot lie to you or harass you. Perhaps a bankruptcy is a viable option. You should speak to experienced bankruptcy counsel.
