Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

hello

I received a call anout an 8 uear old debt

they say I am $10,000 late

I am currently deployed over seas

and dont even know if this debt or company is

even legit. What should I do?

You definitely should not blindly pay it. If you haven't made a payment for eight years, then the statute of limitations likely has expired. This may be a rogue debt collector... You need to provide the factual information to a consumer attorney, whether its my office or another... who is the company, what debt are they talking about, did they give you contact info, where are they calling from....

I wouldn't worry about it as anyone can call anyone for anything at any time. It is not unless you are sued, that you would need to be concerned and that is not likely to happen.

However, if the underlying creditor has a judgment against you, that can effect your assets and you should speak to someone. I am happy to advise you on a free initial basis.
