Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

arrest for shop lifting

i was taken to a back room in kmart. them i only spoke when asked a direct question. they proceeded to ask for my drivers license then fill out numerus papers and asked me to sign each one and i did-without reading i signed on bottom line. the fellow made numerous statements i have a slight hearing problem and when someone talks fast or with a certain high pitch voice i cannot hear what they are saying i kept saying i cannot understand you once he asked me my weight and i responded. i can hear when asked 1 sentence its just when they speak several sentences all together that i loose it. about a half hour later a policewoman came and gave me a plastic card with my mirando writes to read. i then asked her to provide me with an attorney. she said she couldnot. after she took me to the police station i told her i prefered to remain silent. at one point she asked for my phone # and i gave it.she gave me a paper to sign and then told me not to sign since i was staying silent. isaid i probably should have had an attorney before i signed all those papers at kmart. she said i would receive summons in mail for a hearing. she also took mypicture and my right thumb print. she said i would get notice in mail to go downtown to be finger pr

Re: arrest for shop lifting

How many prior shoplifting arrests do you have? What did you take? How much was it worth?

You're right--you should have remained silent at the Kmart...shouldn't have signed papers. If you're smart enough to know that, why, why, why did you do it. Not a good thing.
