My fiance was convicted of a felony. the victim's family was to file a civil case against him for damages. He heard once from the atorney while in jail-he served 5 yrs and now has 5 yrs probation. He is buying a home. can the victim or the victim's family come after his new home? He has heard nothing and it has been 6 years now.

If a suit has not been filed the statute may have expired. A laywre can conduct a judgment search and contact the releveant courts to dtermine if there is litigation pending. I offer free consultations.
