Can an inmate get out to see a terminally ill relative?

The inmate would have to file a motion with the judge for a furlough for a specific period of time, and likely would have to be released to a specific person or accompanied by the sheriff, depending on why the inmate is in jail. It is up to the judge whether or not the request is granted.
