Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

I was issued a subpoena in October of 2009. On a date about 2 weeks before the hearing in October I was issued a subpoena by the township police. The officer came to my door and issued the subpoena to me. The hearing has been moved back and forth until March now. I have been mailed all subpoenas after the first one. On the date in March I will be out of town on business. The magistrates office, says I must speak with the officer. The officer has failed to return 3 of my phone calls. I spoke with the chief of police and he said I must come to the police station at 11PM at night to meet with the officer, to explain my reason for not attending. What can I do to get out of this? Can I send them a certified letter with the plane ticket info? In addition to this the case happened over 5 months ago, I can't remember what I ate for dinner yesterday. Can they hold me in contempt for not knowing what happened? Can they also mail me a subpoena?

The officer works nights and you haqve to try to try to see him there--hopefully that is not far from you...Bring a copy of the air ticket--do it well in advance and be courteous

Why are you being subpoenaed?

Did you schedule the trip after being notified of the hearing date? I'll assume not, then I'd mail a copy of the ticket, and explain the trip was previously planned, and you van not be there.
