Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Can an officer change info. on a traffic citation?

I recently recieved a citation for a minor traffic violation. When I went to pay it at the magistrate, the offense had changed. The assistant on duty advised me to plead not guilty so I could go in front of the judge for a hearing. Is the officer allowed to change information without notifying the defendant? Please help.

Changed charges on a ticket

No, the cop is stuck with what is on your copy of the ticket. Now, the prosecutor may ask the judge to amend the charge but that has to be done in open court with you present.
