Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Prostitution

I would like some information about an issue that is currently troubling a friend of mine. About four years ago, he and a group of friends went to Atlantic City for a bachelor party. At some point during the evening someone suggested that they visit a "massage parlor" and, being in a very intoxicated state, he and everyone else tagged along. There he was talked into paying for sexual services using his credit card. It has been several years and he is still very worried about that mistake.

There are three things I want to find out. 1.) How likely is prosecution, given the evidence at hand, if the business is shut down and investigated by the police? 2.) What would be the likely punishment (or options) for a first time offender with no criminal history? 3.) Would this type of offense require sex offender registration in the state of Pennsylvania? I would like to help put his mind at ease and any information would be very appreciated. Thank you.

Prosecution is not likely. If he was prosecuted, this type of charge would not involve sexual offender registration.
