Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Restitution Rule 586

I am involved with a former partner who has charged me with forgery and theft in a business deal. I have signed documents authorizing a wire transfer, however, the partner later changed their mind and sought a warrant and charges. I have an upcoming trial and want to know how I can offer restitution without making a plea of guilty, understanding that rule 586 is usually only reserved for business to business. And what type of restitutuion schedule can be established for amounts less than $20,000

Re: Restitution Rule 586

You need an attorney immediately. If the money can be paid or a large portion thereof prior to the court date on the charges, the DA's office may be more inclined to let this go through as a 586 settlement. However, this is a rather large amount for a 586.

Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
