Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Testimony

In a criminal trial can a witnesss scheduled testimony be conveyed by a private investigator that previously questioned the witness (there were no notes and it was not recorded. It would be purely from memory of what the witness told him about interactions between a murder victim and the suspected murderer), if the witness is now physically impaired and cannot testify on his on behalf.
