ex boy friend gave up rights

i went to courthouse today and my ex boyfriend had a hearing with the judge on a different batter and he told the judge that he already signed papers that he does not want any rights to my daughter.i want to know if he can do it? and if the judge can make it happen?

Well he can choose not to exercise rights to custody. He can NOT absent a termination of parental rights avoid his duty of child support.

The only way to terminate his parental rights is if someone were to adopt the child. The only way that would happen and your parental rights would not be terminated is if your husband, assuming you had one, adopted the child. If that were to happen you would know about it.

So the short answer is NO he didn't terminate any thing.
