Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Debt

My fiance has past debt, and has not paid taxes in the past 5 years. If we marry, does his prior debt become my responsibility?

Re: Debt

No it should not. Most debt is contractual. That is he signed a contract to incur the debt. Such contracts can only be enforced against him.

The tax liability shouldn't be a problem. Assuming he changes his ways about paying taxes.

My concern would be if he doesn't changes his ways you could get in trouble once you're married to him if he doesn't pay his bills or taxes.
