Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

We have had a dog now for 7 days, the dog was given to us by a family we know who put his pic on FB, the dog was found abandoned by a dumpster by the family's daughter who is 20. we have spent 150 dollars on this dog so far. Now the daughter who "found" the dog has revealed she lied and really bought he dog for 750 dollars. she has moved out of her parents house and wants the dog back. we live in PA- who legally has a right to the dog?

Providing you were an innocent party who had no knowledge that the dog belonged to the daughter i would think the dog would belong to you particularly if the daughter knew her family or if she was the one who gave the dog to you. All this hinges on whether the family made up the story or were told things by their daughter.
