Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I am a mother of three and recently filed for divorce because my husband cheated on me and got the girl pregnant. I feel my lawyer is not fighting for me because the only time he contacts me is when my husbands lawyer emails him. I was the one that always took care of my kids my husband never did anything, but somehow he got custody of my two girls and I only got custody of my son. My girls are being taken care of by his 21 year old girlfriend hardly by him. And I only get 150.00 in child support and 14.00 spousal cause he is on unemployment but yet managed to buy a new truck and a new car for his girlfriend. I walked away from our home cause I couldnt afford the mortgage anymore, so he wants me to sign the deed over and basically I walk away with nothing. I paid my lawyer 1500 and now he says I owe him another 498 but I have no idea what for, he's not doing anything for me besides paper work. What can I do especially when I cannot afford to pay anymore for nothing.

The first thing I would suggest is that you contact your current attorney and communicate your dissatisfation with him or her. Trust me Lawyers do not like to hear that their clients are dissatisfied, Contact your lawyer and ask for a play by play, of your case.

Don't be afraid to ask the lawyer what the additional monies will be used for. You are entitled to a bill or some manner of accounting for the lawyer's fees, unless otherwise specified in the fee agreement you signed with the attorney.

All clients have the right to be kept updated on their case, so I would also suggest that you demand an update from your attorney. If after you speak with your attorney you remain dissatisfied, immediately seek new legal counsel.

As for the particulars of your situation, more information would be needed before I would be able to offer any specific suggestions. Happy New Year.
